Sundays

10.30 am Parish Communion

Our principal act of worship on Sundays is our Parish Communion service.
It is a modern language rite (Common Worship), with music, hymns, and often a choir anthem. Coffee is served afterwards in St Monica’s Room, adjoining the church, and visitors regularly remark upon the warmth and friendliness of the welcome they receive.

In addition to our main act of worship, we hold two other regular Sunday services:

8.00 am Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer)

This is a quiet and meditative ‘said’ service of Holy Communion for the early morning, using traditional language, and with a short address.

6.30 pm Evening Worship

The precise nature of this service varies, depending on the Sunday.  Normally it is a ‘said’ service of Compline (a traditional service for the late evening) with a short address. However, once a month during term-time the university students from ‘AngSoc’ join us for a sung service of Holy Communion, and we are planning to introduce the occasional service of Choral Evensong in the near future. Please check the information about services for this coming Sunday to find out more.

Weekday Services

Wednesday 10.30 am

Our ‘oasis’ mid-week!  This is a ‘said’ service of Holy Communion, using traditional language, and with a short address.  In our prayers we focus particularly on the concerns of our parish and community, as well as praying for issues in the wider world.
